Job summary

Linita Design & Manufacturing in New York is seeking an experienced Manual Boring Mill Machinist to join our team. This role involves working on large custom structural steel projects, reading blueprints, performing setups, and maintaining tight tolerances on sizable components for major construction programs across North America.

Qualifications

2+ years of manual machining experience, preferably on large equipment like a boring mill.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

Operate a large manual boring mill (20' x 10') to machine components to specification.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
Set up machines, change tools, and adjust as required.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, plug gauges, and ring gauges.
Maintain dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with customer specs.
Complete required production and quality documentation.
Assist with tooling and inventory management.
Communicate issues to supervision promptly.
Follow all safety policies and participate in safety initiatives.
Collaborate with teammates to meet production schedules and overtime needs.
