Job summary

IREX in Washington, DC seeks a Program Officer to support Mandela Washington Fellowship operations across Fellowship cycles, managing Fellow support activities such as participant selection, data management, visa administration and related Institute tasks.

You will guide junior staff, coordinate with leadership, maintain accurate systems and records, ensure compliant, timely support, and contribute to growth, new business and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in complex program operations.
• Experience with Salesforce, SharePoint, Excel, Alchemer, Canvas or Submittable.

Responsibilities

• Support daily and cycle-based Operations and Institute tasks.
• Oversee Fellow selection, data management, visa administration, and travel logistics.
• Engage participants, institutes, vendors, and internal stakeholders with tact.
• Coordinate procurement, stipends, and collection of tax documents.
• Mentor and coach junior staff; foster cross-team collaboration.
