Job summary

IREX is seeking a Program Officer to support the Mandela Washington Fellowship Operations and Institute teams in Washington, DC. The role involves managing participant support activities, data systems, visa processes, and event logistics across the fellowship cycle.

You will collaborate with leadership, mentor junior staff, maintain accurate records, and translate funder requests into program outcomes while upholding compliance and high service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 3–5 years of progressive experience in program operations or related fields.
• Experience with government-funded or international exchange programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Fellow selection, data management, and visa administration across the Mandela Washington Fellowship cycle.
• Provide logistics leadership for program events and travel, ensuring timely execution.
• Coordinate with Institute and Operations teams to deliver accurate reports and records.
• Guide junior staff and help identify workflow improvements for efficiency.
• Assist with growth and new business efforts, including data gathering and drafting materials.
