Job summary

IREX in Washington, DC is seeking a Program Officer to support the Mandela Washington Fellowship operations and Institute teams. You will manage participant support, data management, visa administration, and assist with logistics for program events and travel.

You will guide junior staff, coordinate with leadership across sub-teams, ensure compliant and timely support, and help translate funder asks into program successes. This role values attention to detail, judgment, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of progressive program operations experience.
• Experience with government-funded or international programs is a plus.
• Strong data handling and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Operations and Institute tasks.
• Oversee Fellow selection, placement, data management.
• Provide logistical leadership for program events and travel.
• Support communications with participants and stakeholders.
• Assist with proposal development and grant support.
