Job summary

Mass General Brigham seeks a dedicated Medical Interpreter to facilitate services for patients and families across languages. You will provide interpretation and translation of materials, including pre-operative and discharge instructions and education resources to support care continuity.

Responsibilities include documenting encounters, coordinating interpreter services, scheduling, and helping LEP patients navigate the hospital to access departments and social services, all while upholding

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Interpreter Certificate is required.
• National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation for patients and families in various languages.
• Document interpretation encounters with location, duration, and purpose.
• Coordinate and train staff on telephone language interpretation services.
• Answer calls promptly and interpret in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assist LEP patients in navigating the hospital and accessing services.
• Schedule interpreters for appointments and emergencies as needed.
