Qualifications

• Native or near native fluency in Mandarin Chinese (Superior rating per ACTFL).
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
• Minnesota K-12 Chinese and 5-8/5-12 Social Studies licenses or qualify via Tier 1/2 verification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate native or near native fluency in Mandarin Chinese and communicate with parents.
• Deliver instruction using immersion methodologies suitable for middle school (Grade 6–8).
• Develop lesson plans and adapt curriculum to pupil needs as per district.
• Translate plans into engaging learning experiences for middle schoolers (Grade 6–8).
• Establish standards of pupil behavior to foster a positive learning environment.
• Evaluate pupil progress and prepare timely progress reports.
• Identify pupil needs and coordinate referrals and IEPs as needed.
• Integrate technology into instruction and maintain records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and attend meetings to stay current with best practices.
