Springer Nature US is seeking a Managing Editor for Collections Management and Acquisitions in a hybrid role based in the US Northeast. You will coordinate multiple live collections, working with editors, publishers, and authors to ensure timely progression through submission to publication.

The role emphasizes data-driven oversight, quality assurance, and maintaining strong author relationships while supporting open access growth.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in scholarly, academic, or journal publishing with knowledge of editorial workflows and the submit-to-accept process.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret performance data and trends.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management across editors, authors, reviewers, and operations.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining quality.
• Understanding of publishing ethics, research integrity, and quality standards in publishing environments.
• Awareness of Open Access publishing models and industry trends is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple live collections, set priorities, coordinate across stakeholders, and drive projects to timely completion.
• Support Editors and Authors with clear, timely communication and trusted relationships.
• Collaborate with Marketing to promote collections and align priorities with stakeholders.
• Serve as primary contact for Guest Editors and operational teams, enabling seamless collaboration.
• Monitor collection performance using data to provide actionable insights and inform decisions.
