Job summary

Springer Nature US is seeking a Managing Editor for Collections Management and Acquisitions to organize and manage multiple live collections across the SN Journals portfolio. You will coordinate with commissioning editors, publishers, and authors to ensure high-quality, timely content.

The role supports open-access growth with rigorous standards and strong author service. The position is full-time and based in New York, Jersey City or Philadelphia with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Experience in scholarly/academic publishing and knowledge of editorial workflows.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with deadlines and detail.
• Strong understanding of publishing ethics and peer-review processes.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with editors, authors, and teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple live collections, set priorities, and drive projects to completion on schedule.
• Support editors, guest editors, and authors throughout the collection lifecycle with clear communication.
• Collaborate with Marketing to plan collection promotion and align priorities.
• Act as primary contact for guest editors and operations teams while fostering collaboration.
