Job description

Company Overview

Rex is a privately held ecosystem of entrepreneurial ventures led by Peter Rex, spanning real estate private equity, technology, insurance, and AI. We build businesses and investment platforms that generate both exceptional financial returns and meaningful societal impact. At the core of our strategy is investor engagement: attracting aligned capital partners who share our long-term vision. We are building the most compelling investor-facing ecosystem in the private markets. The role offers exposure to a uniquely diverse platform — combining institutional-quality real estate and high-growth tech ventures, all aligned under a singular mission-driven vision.

About Us

Our mission is to catalyze human flourishing through stewardship, serving people in all nations. We seek a transcendent impact, second to none, crossing geographies and making a permanent mark on history.

We aim to uplift investors, foster flourishing families, create enduring trust, and contribute to a more beautiful world through our investments, products and services, and new ventures.

Our investments are primarily in real estate, with additional allocations to tech, energy, and alternatives, employing a downside-protected, long-term approach to investing. We are grounded in timeless morals and seek to preserve and grow both investor capital and our own.

We Serve a Diverse Ecosystem That Includes

  • Multifamily apartment management with 20,000+ apartments
  • Hotel and office buildings
  • Tech ventures
  • Insurance companies

Our businesses, with over 500 employees, are primarily throughout Texas and Florida, but we aim to expand globally with our products and services, impacting people in all countries.

Mindset

  • Fanatical Investor Focus: Serve our investors by preserving their wealth first and foremost and secondarily seeking to maximize their return on equity while fostering human progress through stewardship of the assets and companies.
  • Ecosystem Alignment: Execute in a spirit of partnership across all components of the Rex ecosystem, including multifamily and other real estate assets as well as tech companies.
  • Missionary Zeal: Care about investor stewardship and advancing the vision of catalyzing human flourishing.

Role

This senior role leads end-to-end execution of our real estate private equity strategy, anchored by two core mandates.

First and foremost, drive capital formation across four pillars—with marketing excellence and brand amplification as the tip of the spear: ultra-high-net-worth individuals, independent RIAs, accredited investors via direct access, and tax-advantaged capital (1031, OZ). Responsibilities include direct LP fundraising, fund formation, strategic partnership development, and world-class investor marketing—leveraging the Rex brand and digital ecosystem to build a deeply engaged investor community and enduring capital moats.

Second, working through the deal team, oversee the full investment lifecycle: sourcing, underwriting, debt structuring, acquisition execution, capex planning, and institutional-grade asset and portfolio management.

The ideal candidate brings top 1% marketing instincts, impeccable written and verbal communication, strong visual and brand sensibility, excellent community-building skills, and elite operational discipline. Must be lean-team obsessed, digitally fluent, metrics-driven, and relentlessly focused on execution. AUM per employee should set a new industry standard.

The mission is non-negotiable: this leader must fully embrace Rex’s call to catalyze human flourishing through disciplined stewardship—delivering both exceptional returns and lasting societal value.

Unlike most private equity leadership roles, Rex is investor-driven—not deal-driven. Investor focus, not acquisitions, drives innovation, strategy, and growth. The leader must be relentlessly investor-obsessed.

Key Responsibilities

Capital Formation & Investor Strategy

  • Design and lead a differentiated capital formation strategy across four key investor pillars:
    • Ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs)
    • Independent RIAs and private wealth platforms
    • Accredited investors via direct access channels
    • Tax-advantaged capital including 1031 and Opportunity Zones
  • Drive full-stack investor engagement: sourcing, onboarding, cultivation, and retention
  • Lead fund formation, structuring, and investor productization initiatives
  • Build and scale a world-class investor marketing engine leveraging digital channels, the Rex brand, SEO, newsletters, webinars, and thought leadership
  • Manage, mentor, and drive performance across the capital formation team, ensuring accountability through metrics and dashboards
  • Travel regularly to meet with key capital partners, speak at conferences, and build in-person trust and awareness across the investor ecosystem
  • Build strategic partnerships, rally aligned capital partners, and cultivate a thriving investor community—including planning and executing investor summits and conference events that generate meaningful engagement and brand equity
Acquisitions & Asset Management

  • Own the full lifecycle of real estate acquisitions: sourcing, underwriting, diligence, debt structuring, and close—with a focus in the near term on large-scale multifamily apartment assets
  • The candidate must have strong expertise in multifamily apartment acquisitions and value-add execution
  • Design and execute comprehensive takeover and capex strategies post-close
  • Build a lean, high-output asset management function to drive operational excellence across the portfolio
  • Develop and monitor KPIs that track performance at the property, portfolio, and platform level
  • Coordinate internal and third-party teams to maintain executional velocity and quality

Strategic Leadership & Culture

  • Serve as the operational engine of the private equity business, working closely with the founder to set strategy and drive execution
  • Operate with a lean-team mentality, designing systems and partnerships that minimize organizational bloat while maximizing capital deployment efficiency
  • Champion an investor-first culture grounded in excellence, stewardship, and discipline

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in capital formation from prospecting to closing and long-term cultivation, with proven expertise in driving investor awareness via marketing and brand building
  • Deep experience raising and managing capital from UHNW individuals, RIAs, family offices, and accredited investors through direct-access channels
  • Top 1% marketing instincts with impeccable written, verbal, and visual communication skills
  • Strong brand sensibility and investor-facing polish.
  • Exceptional strategic partnership development and community-building ability.
  • Preferred: experience with tax-advantaged capital sources, including 1031 exchanges, Opportunity Zones, and similar structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional investment operations, including acquisitions, debt structuring, and asset management
  • Must possess experience and knowledge in real estate private equity, particularly multifamily apartments, including acquisitions and value-add execution
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a track record of holding teams to high standards
  • Strong digital fluency and familiarity with investor marketing, CRM systems, and performance dashboards
  • Proven ability to scale platforms while maintaining rigor, agility, and cultural integrity
  • Mission-driven mindset aligned with Rex’s purpose to catalyze human flourishing

Rex Ecosystem-Wide Mission

Catalyze Human Flourishing through our products/services and to elevate/further humanity in all our business dealings.

Rex Values / Rex Culture

  • Customer Fanatic. We fanatically focus on customers, seeking to ever-deliver more value, and inventing/innovating on their behalf.
  • Product/Service Passion. Our business thrives or dies by products/services.
  • Ludicrous speed. Our default pace is extremely fast. Time is precious, life is short; and moving fast is more fun and effective.
  • FAWOMO. We will find a way, or make one.
  • Loves going to war: prefers wartime to peacetime, always hungry to move forward, do more, and push growth.
  • Chutzpah. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Fortune favors the bold. Duc in altum.
  • Fun. We should only do work, over the long run, that’s fun; and work with fun people. Jokes and humor welcomed; PC stuff and uptight behavior prohibited.
  • Never-lose-money approach. Protects the downside, using careful analysis before deploying significant resources, and ensuring cash is plentiful; never risking what others have and need for what they don’t have and don’t need.
  • Other-centered. Idealist, desperate more than anything to leave an impact with their life by helping other people, seeing money as a means to serve.
  • Creative cost cutting constantly. There's always a smarter way, always room to cut, always ways to do more with less – a cost advantage is a competitive edge.
  • Fewer, more capable. Bias to as lean of a team as possible, with the highest competency – reducing communication and coordination, creating more effectiveness.
  • Underdogs. What we’ve done is nothing compared to what we’re going to achieve now. We’re fighting to be the best, clawing and biting up and forward, aiming to be the champs, be #1. Scrappy AF no matter how much we accomplish. We’ve never ‘arrived’ in our minds. We’re the underdogs always.
  • Other attributes valued. Pointblank forthrightness in conversation with teammates, brutally facing problems; velvet glove with iron fist in human dealings; shrewd as a serpent innocent as a dove; hardcore work hustle; invictus mentality; swagger with humility; quiet professionalism; thrifty and not materialistic; loves who they work with, loves what they do, and loves who we serve.
