Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Group Leader to oversee a key business unit in a dynamic, high-growth environment. You will manage multiple multi-million-dollar product lines within a matrixed software company, with full P&L responsibility. The product lines will generate approximately $50MM+ in revenue, focusing on driving revenue growth and managing expenses.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing business operations in matrixed organizations, leading cross-functional teams, and P&L management. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact, with stability and progression in previous roles being essential for success.

Responsibilities
  • Manage product(s) to achieve top-line revenue goals and profit/expense targets.
  • Monitor non-financial KPIs (e.g., churn, MQLs/SQLs) to ensure long-term growth and success.
  • Lead a matrix product organization (team size varies by vertical, typically 80-120 people), ensuring collaboration across functions like sales, marketing, and operations.
  • Set big initiatives, financial goals, and KPIs for the product lines, and hold the team accountable.
  • Analyze market trends, customer pain points, and develop long-term product strategies including roadmaps, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
  • Build a performance-driven culture within your product lines.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate product additions and major changes, including acquisitions and investment cases.
Requirements
Matrix Organization Leadership and P&L Management
  • 15+ years in business operations, preferably SaaS.
  • Proven track record managing P&Ls with at least $50MM revenue.
  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Success managing dotted-line reporting relationships and driving unified team performance.
Strategic Leadership and Change Management
  • 7+ years in leadership roles, including transformational initiatives and operational improvements.
  • Ability to lead teams through change in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Financial and Operational Excellence
  • Experience using financial and operational KPIs to drive performance.
  • Skilled in setting and managing KPIs to meet strategic goals.
Market and Product Leadership
  • Strategic mindset with experience in market analysis and customer feedback integration.
  • Ability to anticipate market trends and influence product roadmaps.
  • Experience managing customer relationships with technical/product needs.
Growth and Scale Management
  • Proven success managing rapid growth and scaling operations.
  • Ability to grow revenues organically and build performance-driven cultures.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with private equity-backed companies.
  • Multiple product line management experience.
  • Mergers, acquisitions, or team integration experience.
  • Payments industry experience.
  • MBA or equivalent degree.
