Proper Hospitality seeks a Managing Director for Santa Monica Proper Hotel in Los Angeles. You will lead strategy, operations, and financial performance, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and brand fidelity across rooms, dining, events, and wellness.

You will oversee an executive team, set performance targets, and partner with ownership to drive growth, capital planning, and market positioning in a luxury West Coast destination.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience within luxury or highly regarded independent hotels.
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue, profitability, and market positioning.
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls.
• Proven track record of delivering guest-focused service at scale.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the overall strategy, performance, and day-to-day leadership of Santa Monica Proper Hotel.
• Maintain accountability for financial performance, including revenue, profitability, labor, and budgets.
• Translate objectives into property-level priorities, plans, and measurable results.
• Identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability across rooms, F&B, events, and wellness.
• Lead Executive Committee and drive a culture of guest-centric excellence.
• Partner with corporate leadership on strategy and capital priorities.
• Set ambitious service standards and ensure alignment with Proper brand.
