Disability Rights Florida is seeking a Managing Attorney to protect and advocate for the civil rights of individuals with disabilities across Florida. You will oversee attorneys and investigators, provide legal supervision, and represent clients in diverse forums including administrative hearings and courts.

The role emphasizes education and advocacy, with travel across Florida and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to effect systemic improvements.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience as an attorney, with preference in civil rights and education.
• Experience supervising attorney and non-attorney staff.
• Member of the Florida Bar.
• Knowledge of state and federal law, regulations, procedure, and professional conduct.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Team Director in managing attorney and non-attorney staff.
• Provide legal supervision of work by advocates/investigators and non-attorney staff.
• Provide legal representation in administrative hearings, state and federal court, and legislative meetings.
• Advocate, educate, and engage in outreach on disability issues.
