Disability Rights Florida is seeking a Managing Attorney to protect and advocate for the civil rights of individuals with disabilities in Florida. The role involves supervising a team of attorneys and non-attorneys, delivering high-quality legal services, and representing clients in administrative and court settings.

The position requires at least 5 years as an attorney, Florida Bar membership, and strong knowledge of civil rights law, education matters, and professional conduct.

Qualifikationen

• At least 5 years of experience as an attorney in civil rights, preferably education.
• Experience supervising attorney and non-attorney staff.
• Member of the Florida Bar.
• Knowledge of relevant state and federal law, regulations, and professional conduct.
• Significant litigation experience in state or federal courts in civil rights matters.

Aufgaben

• Assist the Team Director in managing attorney and non-attorney staff.
• Provide legal supervision of assigned advocate/investigators and other non-attorney staff and ensure delivery of legal services.
• Provide legal representation in administrative hearings, state and federal courts, state agencies, and legislative meetings.
• Engage in advocacy, education, outreach and other services related to disability issues.
