The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.

Responsibilities

An MIT is a member of the management team responsible for:

• Overall store retail/commercial management, supervision, and policy implementation
• Financial management - managing, analyzing, and reconciling monthly P&L statements
• Employee staffing, training, and development
• Inventory management
• Customer service leadership

MITs support the Store Manager in store operations, learn about the business and AutoZone culture, and must demonstrate satisfactory performance and progression through training to remain in the program. Promotion to management depends on performance and available openings.

Requirements

• 1-2 years of retail management or supervisory experience
• Ability to work a full-time flexible schedule, including mornings, nights, weekends, and overtime
• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required
• Previous automotive experience is preferred but not required
• Experience analyzing financial statements, including P&L, is preferred but not required
