The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is part of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the Store Manager's supervision, the MIT will lead the store team through strong leadership, initiative, and example. Responsibilities include:
MITs must complete training in operations and management skills, learn about AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progress to remain in the program and be considered for management roles. Promotion to Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager depends on performance and available openings.
