The Manager in Training (MIT) position is a short-term transitional role that provides work assignments and training opportunities to prepare MITs for promotion into Retail/Commercial Store Management positions. Entry into the program may lead to a management position within approximately 8-12 weeks, depending on prior experience and performance.
An MIT is a member of the management team, expected to Live The Pledge, deliver WOW! Customer Service, and drive store performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive team through strong leadership and initiative. Responsibilities include:
MITs must complete operations and management training, learn about key business aspects and AutoZone culture, and demonstrate consistent progression to remain in the program and be considered for management roles.
Note: Promotion to a Store Manager/Commercial Sales Manager position is not guaranteed and depends on performance and management openings.
