Job description

• Build and manage a team of engineers with a focus on delivering Commercial Insurance products
• Help drive business transformation from traditional IT model to a tech organization with engineering excellence
• Innovate and build new engineering solutions and leverage existing solutions to solve operational problems
• Lead execution of a technical roadmap to increase product delivery velocity and unlock new engineering capabilities
• Enhance application performance, improve user experience, and drive efficient test automation
• Collaborate with the engineering staff to improve and enhance existing solutions

Requirements

• Proven management experience leading teams of 5+ engineers
• Strong background in delivering digital - web and/or mobile - products at scale
• Ability to prioritize and drive results based on business value to the organization
• Fluency with at least one modern language such as Python, Java
• Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly
• Strong Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.) platform knowledge
• Proficiency in Project Management and work item management tools such as GitHub and Azure DevOps
• Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate to both Senior Leadership, highly technical and non-technical audiences
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines and build and release practices in commercial insurance
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including software development lifecycle best practices
• 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment
• 5+ years of hands-on work experience supervising personnel in a technical environment
• 2+ years' experience with automated testing including Unit, Integration, and End-to-End functional testing
