Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced leader to drive engineering excellence across multiple teams in a domain cluster. You will coach Engineering Managers, shape delivery roadmaps, and coordinate cross-team technical architecture while mitigating risks in regulated environments.

The role requires strong collaboration, architecture skills, and the ability to operate effectively within hybrid and distributed team models, interfacing with business stakeholders and product teams.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead multiple cross-functional teams toward aligned delivery outcomes.
• Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices, including cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, observability, and DevOps.
• Demonstrated success operating in a matrixed environment and aligning technical decisions with strategic goals.
• Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare.
• Background supporting or leading infrastructure/platform engineering or shared services teams.
• Familiarity with hybrid and distributed team models.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering excellence, delivery capability, and consistent execution across multiple teams within a domain cluster.
• Develop Engineering Managers through weekly 1:1s, coaching, performance management, and career development.
• Recruit and develop management talent.
• Assess team health and support organizational design.
• Coordinate cross-team technical architecture and dependencies with architecture teams.
• Align quarterly technical roadmaps within the domain cluster.
• Assess and mitigate technical risks.
• Establish standards and best practices across teams.
• Escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
• Conduct quarterly delivery reviews and goal setting.
• Coordinate complex cross-team initiatives.
• Allocate resources and discuss priorities with Engineering Managers.
• Escalate delivery risks and impediments.
• Communicate delivery status to stakeholders.
• Participate in VP review meetings and organizational initiatives.
• Collaborate across domains and share knowledge.
• Drive process improvement and scaling decisions.
• Interface with business unit stakeholders alongside product teams.
