Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Solution Architect to lead end-to-end design for large-scale P&C insurance platforms in Worcester, MA. You will partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable tech, drive roadmaps, and oversee governance throughout the SDLC.

The role requires deep Java-based full-stack expertise (Java/Spring Boot/React or Angular), experience with microservices, API-led architecture, and cloud-native deployments on Azure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field.
10+ years IT experience, including 3+ years in Solution Architecture roles.
P&C Insurance industry experience required.
Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.
Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives.
Experience with distributed Agile teams.
Strong hands-on Java-based full-stack development (Java, Spring Boot, React/Angular).
Experience with API-led architecture, event-driven architecture, and messaging (Kafka/Azure Service Bus).
Experience with modernizing insurance platforms (Guidewire/Duck Creek/Majesco) and domain-driven design.

Responsibilities

Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions
Develop architecture roadmaps aligned with enterprise architecture standards and business objectives
Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical governance processes
Provide technology leadership throughout the software development lifecycle
Design solutions supporting policy administration, underwriting, claims, billing, agency/broker portals, customer self-service, rating and pricing, and regulatory compliance
Modernize legacy insurance applications and integrate third-party insurance platforms
Architect customer-facing web and mobile applications and omnichannel experiences
Ensure high availability, security, performance, and scalability
Lead adoption of Microsoft Azure cloud-native architectures and Kubernetes deployment strategies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
10+ years of IT experience, including 3+ years in Solution Architecture roles
Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry experience required
Must be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future, as a lawful permanent resident or US citizen
Proven experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation initiatives
Experience working with distributed Agile teams
Strong hands-on experience in Java-based full-stack development
Experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and React, Angular, or modern JavaScript frameworks
Extensive experience with workflow and BPM platforms such as Pega
Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure Kubernetes Service, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Experience with API-led architecture, enterprise integration patterns, event-driven architecture, and messaging platforms such as Kafka or Azure Service Bus
Experience architecting mobile applications, customer self-service portals, agent/broker portals, and digital claims and policy servicing platforms
Experience implementing Generative AI solutions using LLM-based applications, RAG, AI-powered chatbots and assistants, and intelligent document processing
P&C insurance platform experience such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, or similar
Experience with domain-driven design (DDD)
Azure certifications and cloud architecture certifications
Experience with data and analytics platforms supporting insurance operations
Strong understanding of insurance security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Strategic thinking and architecture leadership
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and presentation abilities
