Job summary

Hex is seeking an SDR Manager to lead and scale the West Coast SDR team from an inbound-reliant approach to an outbound-driven model. This hands-on leader will develop early-career talent, build repeatable outbound motions, and partner with Sales and Marketing to drive pipeline.

The role is hybrid (2–3 days/week) based in San Francisco, with ownership over coaching, cadence, and performance. Expect to define outbound playbooks, implement AI-enabled workflows, and have high visibility impact on

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of experience in Sales Development leadership.
  • 1–2 years managing SDRs.
  • Proven track record of coaching SDRs to hit pipeline goals.
  • Strong outbound prospecting experience and vision.

  • Run regular 1:1s, call coaching, deal reviews, and team training sessions.

  • Analyze performance data to identify trends and coaching opportunities.
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new SDRs as the team grows.
  • Evaluate AI/automation tools to increase prospecting efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and career progression.

Job description

We're hiring an SDR Manager to lead and scale our West Coast SDR team, at a real inflection point for the function, the team is shifting from an inbound-reliant motion to one that generates its own outbound pipeline, and this hire will help define how we do that. This role is for a hands-on people leader who loves developing early-career sales talent, building repeatable outbound motions, and partnering closely with Sales and Marketing to drive pipeline.

You'll own the day-to-day performance, coaching, and career growth of your team while building the coaching cadence, outbound playbook, and AI-enabled workflows that will define how this function operates as it scales. This is a highly visible role with a direct impact on revenue.

This is a hybrid role (2-3 days/week) based in SF.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of SDRs focused on outbound and inbound pipeline generation
  • Set clear performance expectations and hold the team accountable to activity, quality, and pipeline goals
  • Run regular 1:1s, call coaching, deal reviews, and team training sessions
  • Build and own a repeatable coaching and enablement cadence, including call reviews, scorecards, roleplays, that shortens ramp time and raises the floor across the team
  • Partner closely with Sales leadership to align on ICP, qualification standards, and opportunity quality
  • Work with Marketing to operationalize campaigns, events, and account-based plays
  • Analyze SDR performance data to identify trends, coaching opportunities, and process improvements
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new SDRs as the team grows
  • Evaluate and drive adoption of AI and automation tools that make the team more efficient prospectors
  • Build a strong team culture centered on accountability, continuous improvement, and career progression
About You:

To be successful in this role, you:

  • 2–5+ years of experience in Sales Development, with at least 1–2 years managing SDRs
  • Proven track record of coaching SDRs to consistently hit or exceed pipeline goals
  • Strong outbound experience and opinions on what good prospecting looks like
  • Data-driven and comfortable using metrics to diagnose performance and coach effectively
  • Excellent communicator who can give clear, direct feedback and motivate different personality types
  • Collaborative partner to Sales and Marketing, not a siloed operator
  • Excited to roll up your sleeves in a fast-growing, evolving environment
  • Comfortable operating with real ownership, you don't need to have built an outbound playbook from scratch, but you've seen what a mature motion looks like and have a strong point of view on it
  • Based in SF/Bay Area
  • Experience selling into data, analytics, or technical buyers is a plus

The on-target-earnings (OTE) for this role is: $155,000 - $200,000.

The range shown may be a reflection of additional factors such as geographical location and skill ranges/levels we’re open to. Placement in the salary range will be decided upon completion of the interview process, taking into account factors like leaving room for growth, internal fairness & parity, your demonstrated skills, and the depth of your experience.
