Novant Health is seeking a Respiratory Care Manager at Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. This leadership role guides the team to deliver high-quality care while managing workload, budget, and performance improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's in Respiratory Care with supervisory experience, be registered, and demonstrate strong coaching, communication, and staff development skills within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
• Minimum of three years of progressive supervisory/management experience.
• Registered by National Board for Respiratory Care; RCP licensure in appropriate state.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure credentialing/skills validation for competency.
• Monitor and improve patient experience metrics and educate staff on improvements.
• Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff; implement performance improvement plans.
• Allocate staff to units based on workload and budget; manage staffing and payroll processes.

Our Respiratory Care Manager at Presbyterian Medical Center provides leadership and creates a strategy to achieve the best outcomes in quality, financial vitality and human experience through coaching, counseling, making work assignments, supervising work quality, and developing team members. The manager develops and maintains collegial relationships with physicians and other interdisciplinary team members. This role supports the department and the organization's respiratory care service line in aspects of performance improvement including, but not limited to, education, application of tools, methods, data collection, analysis.

As a Novant Health leader, the Manager is accountable for guiding the team and individuals to successful outcomes. The Respiratory Care Manager is expected to be highly autonomous and be able to manage, delegate, prioritize, and make resource assignments with limited guidance.

What You'll Do

It is the responsibility of every Novant Health team member to deliver the most remarkable patient experience in every dimension, every time.

• Assures completion of required credentialing/skills validation for competency assessment.

• Responsible for monitoring and improvement of HCAHPS scores. This includes education of staff and implementation of improvement plans.
• Provides ongoing and annual feedback to staff on performance, including performance improvement plans. Coaches and counsels employees to achieve success in their roles.
• Encourage team members to be part of an environment that fosters team work, team member engagement and community involvement.
• Monitors and identifies opportunities to enhance productivity and efficiency in human and material resource utilization. Allocates staff to units based on replacement for call-ins, increased workload and staff capabilities. Assesses episodic increase in workload in patient care areas and allocate resources.
• Ensures compliance with organizational policy and procedure. Ensures staffing and work assignments are balanced with workload requirements and budget capabilities.

What We're Looking For

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. Graduate from an accredited school for Respiratory care. Graduate Degree, preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of three years progressive supervisory / management experience, required. Previous managerial experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Registered by National Board Resp Care, required. RCP licensure in appropriate state, required.
• Additional Skills (required): Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific competency assessment. Current practice in area of responsibility; regulatory/governing standards, policies, and procedures; required computer/information systems/ equipment used in performing assigned duties; application of safety and infection control policies and procedures; ability to develop learning development plans, give and receive feedback, and coach and counsel staff; staffing, scheduling, and payroll processes; customer feedback and impact on core processes; delegation, team building, decision making, conflict management, change management skills; verbal and written communication skills that are sensitive to diversities among age groups, cultures, and educational levels.
