Job summary

Novant Health is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at Kernersville Medical Center for a full-time night shift (7pm-7am). The role emphasizes patient advocacy, autonomy in respiratory care, and critical care competencies, with relocation assistance available up to $7,500.

The RRT will operate within a collaborative healthcare team, leveraging Novant Health systems and technology while delivering high-quality, affordable care to patients and communities.

Qualifications

• Education and Licensure: High School Diploma or GED required; 2 year/Associate degree required; 4 year/Bachelors degree preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RCP licensure in appropriate state; RRT required.

Responsibilities

• Acts as patient advocate within the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize duties according to patient needs and acuity; ensure timely completion of care interventions.
• Administers and evaluates medication therapies; performs patient transfers and transports.
• Assesses and provides routine respiratory care (ABGs, bronchial hygiene) and higher levels of care in critical settings.
• Demonstrates independence in Respiratory Care; adheres to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care: ventilator management, code blue, airway management, blood gas interpretation.

• Location: Kernersville Medical Center
• Schedule: Full-time Nightshift 7pm-7am

Our Registered Respiratory Therapist II (RRT) serve as intricate leaders of the healthcare team by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their support system. Respiratory therapists practice under respiratory and ventilator management protocols with a high degree of autonomy. Depending upon the facility, they perform intubations and insert a-lines.

• Acts as a patient advocate for the patient and their support system by incorporating education in the interdisciplinary care plan.
• Prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and changing acuity levels and ensures timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc.
• Administers and evaluates medication therapies, performs patient transfers and transports patients.
• Ability to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, etc., as well as perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations.
• Demonstrates independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care. Practices according to state requirements and standards.
• Critical Care Specific: Ventilator management, code blue, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, use of all related protocols for patient care.
