Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Manager, Distribution Portfolio & Utility Coordination Process & Controls to lead a centralized team that standardizes governance, process, and control frameworks across Distribution Capital Portfolio Management and Utility Coordination.

The role supports data-driven decisions, risk management, and enterprise reporting while coordinating with Finance, Regulatory, and Internal Audit, with a preference for Akron HQ reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Analytics, or related discipline with 7 years of related experience required.
• Associate degree with 10+ years of related experience.
• Non-degreed candidates with over 15 years of related experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating and directing a prominent commitment to all aspects of safety and integrity.
• Leading and developing a high-performing team specializing in process, reporting, compliance, analytics, and coordination.
• Owning and evolving end-to-end portfolio development, management, and forecasting process framework.
• Ensuring alignment of portfolio and utility coordination processes across multiple states and corporate functions.
• Establishing governance standards, including approval thresholds, decision forums, and escalation pathways.
• Advising leadership on process design and maturity.
• Leading the design and maintenance of preventive, detective, and deterrent controls.
• Supporting audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and defensible decision documentation.
• Overseeing governance and reporting through enterprise dashboards and analytics.
• Ensuring forecasting methodologies and data models support accurate insights.
• Promoting data governance practices.
• Ensuring capital planning decisions are grounded in engineering needs.
• Coordinating with enterprise partner groups across IT, Facilities, Finance, Regulatory, Supply Chain.
• Resolving cross-functional dependencies and conflicts through governance.
• Supporting storm processes as assigned.
