Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Distribution Program Manager to lead and coordinate multi-state regulatory compliance initiatives and energy infrastructure programs. You will manage strategy, planning, implementation, regulatory support, and stakeholder coordination for DER, BESS, grid modernization, and electrification initiatives across FE operating companies.

The role reports onsite with a preferred location at the Akron, OH headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related discipline with 5+ years utility distribution experience.
• 5 years of project management experience or the equivalent is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of FERC Order 2222 compliance activities across multiple states.
• Manage DER interconnections program including comments, RFI responses and filings.
• Oversee Energy Storage programs from charter through construction, including RFPs and vendor onboarding.
• Direct cross-functional workgroups and consultant engagement for regulatory reporting teams.
• Ensure timely compliance filings and reporting of milestones and risks.
