Position Overview
Our new Manager of PR for North America will play an integral role in building brand awareness and driving brand heat during this pivotal chapter in the Canada Goose story. You will be responsible for developing and executing multi-pronged PR strategies that consider product placement, brand storytelling and ways of leveraging Spokespeople in partnership with Corporate Communications. Equally as important will be building and maintaining strong relationships with editors, stylists, talent and influencers in lock step with the Global Talent & Partnerships team. The ideal candidate will have an established network within luxury lifestyle, fashion and entertainment sectors, coupled with a passion for storytelling and luxury brand positioning.
What You'll Do
- Oversee public relations to build and maintain positive brand perception and increase awareness among key segments for the North America Region. Manage agencies and connection with corporate communications.
- Build impressions year over year, while also elevating storytelling, ensuring the brand shows up with the right editorial positioning
- Drive brand awareness and amplify the brand vision through public relations, influencer engagement, talent & stylist relationship cultivation, whether singularly or through multi-dimensional activations, working closely with global and local cross-functional partners
- Lead multidimensional influencer strategy including celebrity, macro & micro across paid and organic campaigns.
- Monitor the luxury industry and cultural landscape for trends, providing insights and strategic recommendations on emerging talent, influencers and changes in the media landscape, staying ahead of PR trends and new talent
- Act as a solution-oriented ambassador between cross-functional partners, including Regional Marketing, Global PR, Talent & Partnerships, Integrated Marketing, Social, Brand & Creative leads for alignment and brand cohesion.
- Manage a team of 2 direct reports across PR and Influencer Engagement, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
- Manage PR budget in conjunction with the Head of North America Marketing and optimize spend to maximize ROI.
- In partnership with Head of North America Marketing, develop press strategy for the year, including: press previews, pitch angles (long and short lead), trends, press trips, dedicated editorials and brand activity
- Develop press plans to support large scale Brand Events, leveraging for brand storytelling and event coverage
- In collaboration with Global Talent & Partnerships team, identify outlets and opportunities to leverage ambassadors and talent
- Ensure alignment with brand objectives and maximizing efficiencies between in-house and external teams
- Foster and maintain relationships with top-tier media outlets, editors, and industry influencers to secure high-impact coverage.
- Monitor and evaluate media coverage, reporting on results, insights, and key trends.
- Support crisis communications and issues management, developing key messaging and response strategies to protect and enhance brand reputation in partnership with Global Consumer PR & Corporate Communications
- In lockstep with Global Talent & Partnerships team, identify, engage, and manage high-profile talent and influencers who align with the brand’s values and aesthetic.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and partnerships with influencers, celebrities, and brand ambassadors, ensuring the highest level of brand integrity.
- Develop and manage talent and influencer campaigns that align with marketing and business objectives, ensuring a seamless integration into the overall brand narrative.
- Create long-term partnerships that elevate the brand’s visibility and reputation within the luxury space.
- Engage Stylists, expanding local dressing opportunities of top tier talent in collaboration with Global Talent & Partnerships team.
- Collaborate with internal teams (brand marketing, retail, e-commerce, and corporate communications) to ensure consistent messaging and integration across campaigns
- Work closely with the marketing, digital, and creative teams to ensure the consistency and alignment of brand messaging across all touchpoints.
Let's Talk About You
- Minimum of 5-8 years experience in Luxury PR, with both editorial and talent management, preferably with focus in Fashion or Retail
- Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with media, influencers, and talent in the luxury lifestyle, fashion, or entertainment sectors.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives and foster meaningful partnerships.
- Strong understanding of digital trends, social media platforms, and influencer marketing, particularly within luxury brand environments.
- Demonstrated ability to execute high-profile PR campaigns and talent/influencer initiatives.
- A passion for luxury brands, trends, and the ability to stay ahead of industry shifts.
- Experience in the US region is required, with an understanding of Global/Regional business structure, and regional cultural nuances
- Passionate Brand Storyteller
- Established media and influencer network within the global luxury space.
- Ability to think strategically, work autonomously, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in relevant PR tools, influencer platforms, and social media analytics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, agility and the ability to adapt to change while working in a matrixed organization
- Highly organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Understanding of the luxury market and consumer mindset
- Fluency in English
