Job Description

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading, training, developing, and mentoring the Manufacturing and Quality teams, ensuring adherence to customer expectations and quality systems.

Essential functions of the job:

  • Develop, lead, and maintain training initiatives through mentoring and coaching of best practices; manage resource demands to ensure proper allocation with capable, skilled individuals.
  • Ensure plant quality standards are adequate for controlling incoming materials, standardized manufacturing processes, and quality.
  • Lead efforts in optimizing operational quality performance KPIs and associated scorecard metrics with a focus on results.
  • Establish and maintain excellent customer-facing relationships to ensure high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Evaluate, approve, and provide expertise for problem-solving (e.g., root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions), internal/external audit preparation.
  • Responsible for disposition of non-conforming materials.
  • Drive quality system management processes (YF iOS). Administer quality metric reviews for plant management.
  • Implement Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) initiatives.
  • Review and approve new process changes.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Technical field.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered for certain positions.

Required qualifications:

  • 5-9 years of experience in quality management and customer interaction.
  • 5-9 years of experience within the automotive industry; travel may be required to manufacturing plants or customer locations.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt training/certification preferred.
  • Working knowledge of external quality standards (e.g., VDA, IATF, ISO, customer) and requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge and training in core quality tools (e.g., APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, Control Plan) and problem-solving methodologies.
