Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks a Manager of Outpatient Services to oversee psychiatric and substance use treatment programs in the outpatient setting. You will lead family and group therapy, supervise clinicians, and ensure compliant documentation and discharge planning for seamless post-IOP/PHP transitions.

The role requires a master’s degree in social work, a current clinical license, CPR/CPI or HWC within 30 days, and outpatient healthcare experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school of social work or equivalent in education and experience.
• Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License.
• CPR Certification and CPI or Handle with Care within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• Other state-specific license requirements may apply.
• Previous experience in outpatient healthcare is required.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical treatment programs for patients with psychiatric and substance use issues in outpatient settings.
• Ensure high‑quality clinical care and integrated clinical functions.
• Supervise family and group counseling; develop and supervise therapeutic modalities and processes.

How you’ll contribute

The Manager of Outpatient Services is responsible for the oversight of all clinical treatment programs of patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance use issues in the outpatient setting. The Manager assures that high‑quality clinical care is provided and that clinical functions are integrated. Manager supervises family and group counseling and develops, implements, and supervises a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities/processes. Oversees discharge planning to ensure an optimal post IOP / PHP transition. Responsible for ensuring that clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.

• Is responsible for ensuring that company approved programs are implemented and being provided consistently.
• Provides oversight to the therapists and provides feedback through the performance evaluation process, supervision, and training and, if necessary, through counseling.
• Ensures that all interventions (individual, group, and family therapy) are performed and documented according to professional clinical standards.
• Conducts regular audits on patient charts to ensure compliance with Lifepoint and regulatory agency requirements.
• Actively participates in survey activities (TJC, Medicare, and licensing).

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a master's degree from an accredited school of social work or is qualified by education and experience in the social services needs of patients with psychiatric and substance use issues.
