Job summary

Sovah Health - Martinsville is seeking a Manager, Outpatient Services for behavioral health to oversee outpatient psychiatric and substance use programs. The role includes supervising therapists, ensuring quality of care, and coordinating discharge planning for post-IOP/PHP transitions.

The position requires a master’s degree in social work, an active license, CPR and CPI training within 30 days, and prior outpatient experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or equivalent education/experience.
• Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License.
• CPR Certification and CPI Handle with Care within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
• Domestic state license requirements may apply.
• Previous outpatient healthcare experience is required.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all clinical treatment programs for psychiatric and substance use in outpatient settings.
• Supervise therapists and provide feedback through evaluations, supervision, and training.
• Develop, implement, and supervise various therapeutic modalities and processes.

• Ensure clinical documentation is current and compliant with regulatory standards.
• Conduct audits of patient charts to ensure compliance with Lifepoint and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in survey activities (e.g., JTC, Medicare, licensing).

How you'll contribute

The Manager of Outpatient Services is responsible for the oversight of all clinical treatment programs of patients receiving treatment for psychiatric, and substance use issues in the outpatient setting. The Manager assures that high-quality clinical care is provided and that clinical functions are integrated. Manager supervises family and group counseling and develops, implements, and supervises a variety of therapeutic treatment modalities/processes. Oversees discharge planning to ensure an optimal post IOP / PHP transition. Responsible for ensuring that clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards.

A Manager, Outpatient Services who excels in this role:

• Is responsible for ensuring that company approved programs are implemented and being provided consistently.
• Provides oversight to the therapists and provides feedback through the performance evaluation process, supervision, and training and, if necessary, through counseling.
• Ensures that all interventions (individual, group, and family therapy) are performed and documented according to professional clinical standards.
• Conducts regular audits on patient charts to ensure compliance with Lifepoint and regulatory agency requirements.
• Actively participates in survey activities (TJC, Medicare, and licensing).

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a master's degree from an accredited school of social work or is qualified by education and experience in the social services needs of patients with psychiatric and substance use issues.

Additional requirements include:

• Current unencumbered Clinical Social Work or Counseling License
• CPR Certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) or Handle with Care (HWC) within 30 days of employment and prior to any patient contact.
• And any additional state-specific state license requirements.
• Previous experience in outpatient healthcare is required.
• Knowledge of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles is required.

Salary Range: $80,000-$105,000 annually
