The Planet Group has partnered with a Cincinnati company to locate an Manager of IT Infrastructure for a full-time role.

The Manager of IT Infrastructure will oversee day-to-day operations of our infrastructure environment while leading a team responsible for delivering reliable, scalable, and secure IT services. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, ensuring systems are performing optimally while driving projects forward on time and within scope.

This is a 100% onsite role. Please do not apply if you are not willing to be onsite five days a week and unwilling to do an in-person interview.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily IT operations to ensure infrastructure and application initiatives are delivered on time and meet business expectations
• Collaborate with stakeholders and leadership to define priorities, communicate deliverables, and manage expectations
• Assign and manage project tasks, track progress, and ensure alignment with timelines and budgets
• Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for a technical support team
• Design, implement, and improve IT processes, procedures, and policies aligned with organizational strategy
• Oversee network and infrastructure performance, including servers, storage, and virtualization environments
• Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and infrastructure solutions to meet evolving business needs
• Monitor systems for performance, reliability, and security, and lead incident response and recovery efforts
• Manage system access controls and enforce security best practices
• Lead business continuity and disaster recovery planning, including testing and validation
• Oversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets
• Ensure accurate documentation of systems, processes, and procedures
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to systems and workflows
• Participate in on-call and escalation support as needed

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or technical operations
• 3+ years of leadership or team management experience
• Experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization technologies
• Experience working within ITIL-based ticketing and incident management systems
• Hands‑on experience with IIS (Internet Information Services)
• Experience supporting storage area networks (SAN)
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams

Preferred Skills

• Experience with VMware Horizon (VDI environments)
• Experience administering Microsoft Exchange
• Experience with F5 Big‑IP
• Background in infrastructure design and architecture
