Job summary

DGS Office of External Affairs seeks a Manager of In‑Service Training to oversee continuing education and mandated training for law enforcement through Mobile Team Units. You will plan and develop programs for School Resource Officers, homicide investigators, and traffic safety, reporting to the Deputy Director of Training.

The role requires substantial experience in law enforcement training delivery, policy development, and budget management within Illinois.

Qualifications

• Four years of college with courses in criminal justice, criminology, police science, law enforcement, or related fields.
• Three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in law enforcement or correctional officer training delivery.
• Five years of professional experience working within in-service and mandated law enforcement training guidelines and policies in Illinois.
• Five years of experience identifying law enforcement training needs and budget preparation.
• Valid Illinois driver's license and ability to travel with overnight stays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet applications.
