Job summary

Illinois State Police is seeking a Technical Advisor III - Legal Advisor to support the Director’s Office in legal matters related to training, patrol and statewide 9-1-1. The role conducts legal research and reviews forms, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Candidates will coordinate with senior leaders and the Attorney General’s Office on civil matters and legislative changes. Essential duties include advising on operational changes, drafting amendments, and managing a litigation

Qualifications

Requires two years of professional experience in the practice of law.
Requires graduation from a recognized law school.
Requires a valid license to practice law in Illinois.

Responsibilities

Serves as Technical Advisor in the Illinois State Police Legal Office on training, patrol and 9-1-1 initiatives.
Reviews legal sufficiency of forms, documentation and electronic information available to the public.
Prepares amendments to statutes and administrative rules as assigned, coordinating with government offices.
Advises senior command on proposed operational or workflow changes and legal analyses.
Manages a litigation portfolio as assigned and serves as liaison with the Attorney General’s Office on civil matters.
