Job summary

The Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board invites well-qualified candidates to apply for the position of In-Service Manager. This role oversees in-service and mandated continuing education training for local and state law enforcement officers through Mobile Team Units, ensuring compliance with state laws and Board policies.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college with courses in criminal justice, criminology, police science, law enforcement, legal studies, and/or law.
• Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in the delivery of law enforcement and/or correctional officer training.

Responsibilities

• Manage in-service and mandated continuing education training for local and state law enforcement officers via Mobile Team Units (MTUs).
• Plan, develop, and implement training program policies and improvements for SRO, Lead Homicide Investigators, Traffic Safety, Chiefs and Deputy Chiefs training, and sheriffs programs.
• Ensure compliance with statutory authority and Board policy; act as technical expert on State In-Service and Mandated Training.
• Complete special and routine projects for the Deputy Director of Training and Executive Director, including sensitive matters.
• Serve as full line supervisor and participate on advisory committees as directed.

Education

Four-year college degree (criminal justice/related)
