Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks an Emergency Room RN Manager (ER RN Manager) at Southern Regional Medical Center– Riverdale, GA. This role oversees ED operations, staffing, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe, high-quality emergency care.

The position requires RN licensure, BSN, BLS, PALS, ACLS, and preferably CEN, with at least two years of supervisory experience in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• A BSN is required for all hires after 1/11/2021.
• BLS (AHA) certification at hire and maintained.
• PALS, ACLS at hire and maintained.
• CEN certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, including patient flow and staffing.
• Supervise and develop ER nursing staff through coaching and evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate care with physicians, charge nurses, and other departments during high volume periods.
• Monitor quality metrics to drive improvements in wait times and patient outcomes.
• Manage budgets, supplies, and department resources for safe, cost-effective operations.
• Lead training, onboarding, and emergency preparedness initiatives.
• Support patient safety through triage, documentation, medication administration, and protocols.

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center– Riverdale, GA

We are seeking an Emergency Room RN Manager (ER RN Manager), also referred to as an Emergency Department RN Manager, Emergency Services RN Manager or Emergency Room Nurse Manager. The Emergency Room Nursing Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Services Department, ensuring safe patient flow, proper staffing, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. The ER RN Manager will support and develop nursing staff while collaborating with physicians and other teams to deliver efficient, high quality emergency care. ER RN Manager also monitors key performance metrics, manage resources, and lead initiatives that improve patient outcomes and department readiness.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department including patient flow, staffing coverage, and overall efficiency
• Supervise, support, and develop ER nursing staff through coaching, scheduling, performance reviews, and competency assessments
• Ensure adherence to clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements such as Joint Commission and state requirements
• Works closely with physicians, charge nurses, and other departments to coordinate care during high volume periods, trauma activations, codes, and other emergencies
• Monitor key quality metrics like wait times, left without being seen rates, patient satisfaction scores, and clinical outcomes to drive improvement
• Manage budgets, supplies, and department resources to maintain safe, cost effective operations
• Lead or participate in training, onboarding, continuing education, and emergency preparedness initiatives
• Support patient safety by reinforcing best practices for triage, documentation, medication administration, and emergency protocols

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• Must have a current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• PALS upon hire and maintain current.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.
• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN), required for all hires after 1/11/2021.
