Job summary

The organization in Memphis is seeking a Manager of Accounting to lead key accounting operations and partner with the finance leadership team. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will oversee AP/AR, month-end close, GL integrity, and support budgeting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• CPA preferred and highly regarded.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience leading a team and coordinating month-end close.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of Accounting will lead key accounting operations and serve as a critical member of the finance leadership team.

This individual will oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, manage the month-end and year-end close processes, maintain general ledger integrity, support financial reporting activities, support systems and process improvement initiatives, annual audit coordination, assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives, and play a significant role in annual audit coordination and internal control oversight.

The position offers a unique combination of accounting leadership, operational involvement, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience from either public accounting or industry, or mix
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Prior leadership, supervisory, or team management experience
• Experience managing month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit support activities
• Track record of driving process improvements and collaborating across departments
• Strong communication and leadership skills
