Pine Tree Recruiting is assisting a Memphis-based client in identifying an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing finance team. The role offers visibility with senior leadership and exposure to critical accounting functions and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting foundation, Big 4 audit experience, solid US GAAP knowledge, and experience leading accounting staff. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 3+ years of Big 4 audit experience required.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience leading accounting processes and staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Prepare financial statements per US GAAP and ensure internal controls.
• Coordinate external audits and serve as primary auditor contact.
• Lead and develop accounting staff; drive process improvements.
• Collaborate with FP&A, operations, and leadership on strategic initiatives.
• Assist with system implementations and reporting enhancements.

Schedule: Hybrid (3 Days In Office / 2 Days Remote)

Compensation: Up to $135,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits

Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join their growing finance and accounting team in Memphis. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to partner with senior leadership, oversee critical accounting functions, and help drive process improvements across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting foundation, including Big 4 audit experience, combined with progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
• Oversee preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
• Coordinate external audits and serve as the primary point of contact for auditors
• Research and document technical accounting matters
• Lead and develop accounting staff
• Drive process improvements and enhance accounting efficiencies
• Partner with FP&A, operations, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives
• Assist with special projects, system implementations, and reporting enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of Big 4 audit experience required
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
• Prior experience managing or leading accounting processes
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, or similar
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Preferred Experience

• Big 4 Audit Senior, Experienced Senior, or Manager background
• Public company, SEC reporting, or large corporate accounting experience
• Experience leading month-end close and audit processes
• Proven ability to improve processes and mentor team members
