Job summary

Connor Group is seeking seasoned professionals to lead financial and accounting due diligence engagements for buy-side or sell-side opportunities. You will strengthen client relationships, drive timely delivery, and challenge projections while coordinating multi-disciplinary teams across engagements.

The role emphasizes deep GAAP knowledge, technical accounting skills, and a hands-on approach with Excel-based data packs.

Qualifications

• 6-7 years of public accounting or FDD experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent required
• CPA license
• Ability to manage teams and own their work product
• Hardworking, detail-oriented, and able to motivate engagement teams
• Professional and personable demeanor
• Proven solid verbal and written communication skills
• Passion for helping clients with a strong interest in technical accounting
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of GAAP
• Experience and familiarity with technology industries preferred
• Ability to act and lead as the client contact
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills
• Some travel may be required (about 10%)

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team to perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side engagements
• Strengthen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities through excellent quality, timely execution, and strategic approach to service delivery
• Identify critical deal issues and the strength/weakness against industry benchmarks for client management
• Challenging assumptions related to future financial projections
• Identify critical post-closing matters to improve profitability and cash flows
• Interact extensively with personnel of target companies and the client
• Reviewing and preparing due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings
• Assisting with opening balance sheet and closing working capital calculations
• Ensure work is delivered timely and in accordance with firm standards
• Supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff; conduct performance reviews
• Utilize Excel to create FDD data pack end-to-end - advanced formulas, index match, power query, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the engagement team to perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side due diligence engagements
• Strengthen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities through excellent quality, timely execution, and strategic approach to service delivery
• Identifying and communicating (i) critical deal issues, (ii) the strength and weakness of the business against industry benchmarks to client management that could impact the purchase price or the deal structure
• Challenging assumptions related to future financial projections
• Identifying critical post-closing matters to be addressed to ensure improvements in profitability and cash flows
• Interacting extensively with personnel of the target companies and the client
• Reviewing and preparing due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings
• Assisting with the finalization of (i) opening balance sheet/ of purchase price allocations, and (ii) closing working capital calculations.
• Ensure work is delivered timely and in accordance with firm standards
• Supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback and training. Develop and communicate workplace culture and code of conduct
• Utilizing Excel to create FDD data pack end-to-end - advanced formulas, index match, power query, etc.
