Job summary

Connor Group, Inc. is seeking professionals to perform financial and accounting due diligence across buy-side and sell-side engagements, leveraging advanced Excel and data tools.

The role emphasizes deal issues, valuation, and forecasting within a growth-focused, high-caliber team. The candidate will interact with client management and target company personnel, delivering thorough due diligence reports and assisting with balance sheet openings and closing working capital calculations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of prior experience in public accounting or FDD.
  • CPA preferred or actively pursuing certification.
  • Knowledge in forecast and budget tool (Adaptive, Anaplan, etc.).
  • International experience (beneficial but not required).
  • Experience with advanced data applications like Power Query and/or Alteryx.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite with strong Excel skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side engagements.
  • Identify and communicate critical deal issues and the strength/weakness against industry benchmarks to client management.
  • Perform valuation using DCF, market comps, and transaction comps.
  • Analyze companies’ strategic positions and forecasts.
  • Perform research and industry analyses.
  • Review purchase price allocations.
  • Challenge assumptions related to future financial projections.
  • Identify and address post-closing matters to improve profitability and cash flows.
  • Interact extensively with target companies and clients.
  • Review and prepare due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings.
  • Assist with opening balance sheets of purchase price allocations and closing working capital calculations.
  • Comfortable with advanced Excel functionalities: pivot tables, macros, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, INDIRECT.

Responsibilities
  • Perform financial and accounting due diligence procedures for buy-side or sell-side engagements.
  • Identify and communicate (i) critical deal issues and (ii) the strength and weakness of the business against industry benchmarks to client management that could impact the purchase price or the deal structure.
  • Perform valuation using discounted cash flow, public company comparable, and transaction comparable methods.
  • Analyze companies’ strategic positions and corresponding forecasts.
  • Perform research and industry analyses.
  • Review purchase price allocations.
  • Challenge assumptions related to future financial projections.
  • Identify and address critical post-closing matters to ensure improvements in profitability and cash flows.
  • Interact extensively with personnel of target companies and clients.
  • Review and prepare due diligence reports outlining analyses and findings.
  • Assist with the finalization of (i) opening balance sheets of purchase price allocations and (ii) closing working capital calculations.
  • Comfortability with advanced Excel functionalities: building flatfiles, pivot tables, macros, and using advanced formulas such as SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH, INDIRECT.
