Job summary

Spectrum Retirement Communities in Cedar Park, TX, is seeking a full-time Manager to oversee dementia care and lead a care team in a resident-centered setting. Responsibilities include staffing, training, supervision, and coordinating admission and care planning with the multidisciplinary team.

The role may require weekend coverage and involves collaborating with physicians to adjust care plans, reduce falls, and ensure compliance with state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors.
• Experience with resident assessment and non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.

Schedule: Full-Time

In this position, your main responsibilities will include:

• Recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and staffing of team members.

• Discussing changes in resident condition with physicians, introduce interventions to reduce falls based on individual resident needs, etc. Also provide medication administration and help with resident care, as needed
• In conjunction with the community’s multidisciplinary team, coordinate the resident admission process including screening, assessment and care planning.

This position may occasionally fill in on the weekend as a Manager-On-Duty.

Qualifications

To be successful in this position, we believe that you need the following experiences, strengths, and skills:

• Candidates may be considered with caregiver certifications beneficial to the community plus management experience.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Gerontology preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years of management experience in directing/providing dementia care for seniors preferred.
• A strong background in patient care assessment, assessing resident behavioral symptoms and developing non-pharmacologic approaches to meeting resident needs.
• Has experience in community or long-term care settings.
• Must meet all state requirements.
