Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is hiring for a 2nd shift Maintenance Supervisor responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment, buildings and utilities.

You will plan plant improvements, ensure safety compliance and train staff to operate updated systems while reducing downtime and controlling maintenance costs. The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 6+ years of maintenance experience, and proficiency with SAP CMMS.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 6 plus years maintenance experience.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; some public speaking skills.
  • Special Skills: Industrial Maintenance in electrical, refrigeration, hydraulics or mechanical.
  • Supervisory: Responsible for supervising a group of personnel.
  • Travel: 1-5 domestic trips per year.
  • Relocation: Eligible if required.

  • Assist planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
  • Ensure maintenance personnel are trained on updated equipment and skills.
  • Provide a safe workplace and comply with safety programs and regulations.
  • Monitor equipment to minimize downtime and analyze operational data.
  • Maintain SAP CMMS for work orders and inventory.
  • Manage budget and procurement for maintenance materials and parts.

Summary

This position is responsible for supervising the maintenance of production equipment buildings and utilities including ammonia compressors offal and Wastewater Department. Responsibilities include: assist with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions; ensure that all maintenance personnel are well trained on the most updated version of operating equipment as well as other maintenance skills; provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs; monitor operation of plant equipment and systems constantly to minimize unplanned downtime anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and identify issues; establish and maintain a computerized maintenance management system SAP for tracking work orders adequate and appropriate inventory of replacement parts; make recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems through analyzing data; ensure that all maintenance personnel are properly trained equipped and motivated so maintenance programs and processes can be accomplished in a safe timely and efficient manner; ensure the Costal Training system is in place and communicated to maintenance personnel and provide the resources for skillsets needed; maintain a tracking system that assists in analyzing key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization maintenance cost PM compliance etc.

Other Duties

ensure all safety health OSHA PSM and environmental policies and procedures are in compliance with company policy as well as local state and federal regulations; ensure safety program is communicated and enforced; monitor and administer purchasing and use of all parts and equipment materials and supplies utilized in the maintenance department; ensure refrigeration system and wastewater systems are well maintained and meet all regulatory guidelines; administer the maintenance budget and ensure the achievement of financial goals.
