Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority is seeking a Manager, Industrial Hygienist to promote occupational health and safety across Metro-North Railroad facilities. The role develops, implements, and evaluates programs to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, MNR, and MTA requirements.

You will conduct investigations, oversee remediation for lead/asbestos, monitor indoor air quality, and manage data reporting while coordinating with multiple departments and external stakeholders in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental or related duties, including two years of environmental remediation.
• Experience managing professional staff and/or projects.
• Mass transit or railroad experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle remediation and abatement project management for lead and asbestos using service contracts, coordinating with centers and contractors.
• Track occupational health complaints and corrective actions; maintain databases and report monitoring results.
• Coordinate indoor air quality and exposure risk assessments; implement corrective actions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist safety initiatives, conduct field audits, review HASPs, and manage invoices and contractor performance.
