Job summary

The Salvation Army – Adult Rehabilitation Centers Command is seeking a Manager-in-Training (MIT) in Overland Park, KS. This 12‑week program prepares high-potential team members to become Store Managers (Level I), with hands-on leadership, sales driving, and operational excellence responsibilities.

Upon completion, you may be promoted to Store Manager I, managing a store up to $1M in annual sales, including staff development, inventory control, and customer experience improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous retail or management experience preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and communication skills.
• Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to The Salvation Army mission.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs (occasionally up to 100 lbs).

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of store operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals.
• Recruit, train, and develop staff while promoting a positive, mission-driven culture.
• Manage donation, production, and sales processes for efficiency and compliance.
• Oversee store appearance, safety, and customer experience standards.
