Job summary

Gildan in Clarkton, NC is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead day-to-day HR operations at our 24/7 manufacturing facility, partnering with plant leadership to meet people needs and staff the team of about 160 associates.

You will oversee recruitment, onboarding, policy administration, time and attendance, payroll systems, and employee relations, while promoting the Gildan brand and fostering a supportive, inclusive workplace on every shift.

Qualifications

• BS degree in HR or related field preferred.
• HRCI or SHRM HR certification is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years progressive HR leadership in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (PeopleSoft, Dayforce, and ADP preferred).
• Advanced computer competency in MS Office and other systems is required.
• Ability to meet the needs of employees across all shifts (24/7 operation).
• People-centric mentality with a desire to see teammates thrive and stay engaged.

The HR Manager supports the manufacturing effort by working with other business leaders to accomplish company gaols and business objectives. The work environment is a fully automated, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that operates on a 24/7 schedule and employs approximately 160 associates. The HR Manager reports to the Director of HR for US Manufacturing.

The role

• Manage the day-to-day HR function at our Clarkton, NC manufacturing facility
• Work with plant leadership to meet the people needs of the business
• Support the manufacturing team by providing HR expertise and direction
• Support recruitment, selection, and onboarding of talent for the facility
• Lead employee relations and engagement efforts
• Lead policy administration in accordance with company guidelines
• Oversee time and attendance and payroll systems to meet the needs of the business
• Promote the Gildan brand by engaging in community activities
• Manage HR support staff

The requirement

• BS Degree in an HR or related field strongly preferred
• HRCI or SHRM HR certification is a plus
• Minimum of 5 years progressive HR leadership with experience in a 24/7 manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (PeopleSoft, Dayforce, and ADP preferred)
• Advanced computer competency in MS Office Suite and other systems is required
• Ability to meet the needs of employees across all shifts (24/7 operation)

• Approachable and engaging personality. The HR Manager will spend a lot of time on the floor with employees
