Job summary

Gildan is seeking a shift supervisor for the Yarns division to oversee production, motivate staff, and ensure daily tasks meet our production goals. You will act as a reference point for employees and customers and report to the Production Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years of management experience, basic computer skills, strong communication, and the ability to work a 12-hour 2-2-3 night schedule in a cotton environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent in manufacturing/industrial environment.
• 2 years of management experience (Production MGT).
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Mechanical inclination with troubleshooting skills.
• High level of safety awareness.
• Ability to work a 12-hour, 2-2-3 night schedule (7pm–7am).
• Ability to work in a cotton dust environment.
• Knowledge of working in a cotton industry is a plus.

The opportunity

The primary function of this job is to supervise employees during their shift and make sure that they complete their tasks and are motivated to work effectively. Shift supervisor skills include contributing to the production strategy by knowing the business goals and how to achieve them. You’ll also act as a reference point for employees and customers, ready to fix problems that occasionally arise. Position reports to the Production Manager. This opportunity is based in Yarns division.

The requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent years of work experience in a manufacturing/Industrial environment.
• Must have 2 years management experience. (Production MGT)
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be a team player with strong communication skills.
• Must be mechanically inclined with troubleshooting skills.
• Must have a high level of safety awareness.
• Ability to work a 12-hour, 2-2-3 schedule- Nights (7pm-7am).
• Ability to work in a cotton dust environment.
• Knowledge of working in a cotton industry is a plus.
