Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet Operations Management: Lead day-to-day fleet operations for a mid-sized trucking fleet, including dispatch coordination, route execution, asset deployment, and delivery performance across regional and assigned lanes.

  • Asset Utilization & Efficiency: Monitor and improve tractor and trailer utilization, route efficiency, fuel performance, driver productivity, and empty-mile reduction. Identify opportunities to increase uptime and improve operating performance.
  • Dispatch & Service Performance: Work closely with dispatch and operations teams to ensure timely load planning, schedule execution, customer communication, and rapid resolution of service disruptions.
  • BOL, Invoicing and Driver Payroll Reconciliation: Assist director of operations with reconciling daily BOL’s, accurate monthly invoicing, and accurate driver payroll execution.
  • Customer Contract Management: Assist director of operations with company’s adherence to contractual obligations and address with management when terms and conditions are not properly executed.

  • Documentation & Recordkeeping: Ensure accurate and timely fleet documentation, including driver qualification records, inspection records, maintenance files, training records, and compliance-related reporting.
  • KPI Management & Continuous Improvement: Track and report key fleet performance indicators such as on-time delivery, safety events, CSA-related trends, equipment uptime, driver turnover, and cost performance. Use data to identify trends and drive operational improvements.
  • Vendor & Service Provider Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party service providers, including maintenance vendors, roadside assistance providers, and other operational partners that support fleet continuity and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent fleet leadership experience will also be considered.
  • Experience: 3 + years of experience in trucking, transportation, or fleet operations, including direct responsibility for drivers, equipment, dispatch, and compliance.
