Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior finance leader to oversee valuation, pricing and impairment analyses within the Investments Department. You will lead and develop a team, ensure accurate analyses across asset types and derivatives, and maintain strong process controls.

You’ll collaborate with risk and investment offices, communicate complex financial information to senior management, and drive continuous improvements in valuation methodologies and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
• Eight years of accounting/finance experience including three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Strong people management and communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Experience with valuation/pricing and impairment analyses for all asset types and derivatives.

Responsibilities

• Stand up a new valuation function within the investments department.
• Lead the derivative valuation function within Investment Reporting.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure valuation methodology complies with expectations.
• Provide valuation/pricing, impairment analysis and process-control oversight.
• Communicate directives from senior management and oversee performance reviews.
• Travel occasionally to support cross-functional initiatives and third-party firms.

• Adapt department plans to address resource and operational challenges
• Participate in cross-functional initiatives
• Understand and communicate directives from senior management
• Hold one-on-one meetings with employees on performance and career development
• Gather information and handle tactical questions for third-party firms
• Complete or review issue papers and control memos
• Identify potential accounting issues/errors and elevate appropriately
• Approve budgeted staff expenses
• Review, design and implement process and control improvements
• Influence and lead the team in alignment with department strategy and values
• Stand up a new valuation function within the investments department
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure valuation methodology complies with Risk and Investment Office expectations
• Lead the derivative valuation function priced within the Investment Reporting department
• Provide valuation/pricing, impairment analysis, private credit accounting methodology, process-control oversight and subject-matter expertise

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience
