Our client, a major publicly traded investment company in Houston, seeks a valuations senior associate to join the corporate accounting and finance team. You will assist with quarterly portfolio company valuation models and engage in financial reporting and internal analysis.
The role requires 4+ years in banking, accounting, or related finance, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, and strong Excel/GAAP skills. CPA/CFA or progress toward designation is preferred.

This position will be engaged as a member of the corporate accounting and finance team primarily assisting with the quarterly valuations of investments in their portfolio companies. This role offers the opportunity to further develop valuation/finance skills, in addition to general accounting and analysis skills. As investments at fair value account for 95% of the balance sheet, the valuing of those investments is the critical part of financial reporting. In order to value companies, the valuations group must understand company and industry current results and long‑term outlooks and report detailed information to management. As such, the group ends up being the repository of a large amount of information that is utilized by management and the rest of the company to ensure accurate accounting, financial and management reporting and a variety of other critical tasks throughout the company.
