Job description

• Extract financial data from accounting and information systems for analysis
• Analyze financial data to determine past performance and project financial results
• Determine appropriate methodologies for preparing information
• Help staff achieve performance standards; develop, motivate, mentor, train, and share knowledge
• Provide leadership and direction to others
• Participate in monthly accounting processes to ensure accurate and complete financial records
• Recommend process changes to improve efficiency
• Develop financial reports and complex models for forecasting, trending, and results analysis
• Work with other departments and divisions to resolve business issues
• Troubleshoot financial systems and reporting tools, recommend system enhancements, and work with IT teams to implement reporting solutions
• Support the Valuation Manager in establishing a new valuation function within the investment reporting department
• Support valuation of derivatives and oversee junior staff pricing derivative positions
• Ensure adherence to the company’s internal controls framework

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 8 years experience, with degree
• Advanced computer skills
• 1 year supervisory experience preferred
• Solid knowledge of accounting/financial area preferred
• Solid knowledge of accounting/finance concepts relating to invested assets
