Overview

Sentara is hiring a full-time Facilities Manager for Sentara Obici Hospital, located in Suffolk, VA. This position is responsible for supervising approximately 11 employees (9.0 FTEs) and managing about 400,000 sq ft of hospital space. The role involves planning, organizing, supervising, and coordinating plant operations and maintenance activities to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead facilities operations, including maintenance of building systems
• Manage staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
• Prepare and manage budgets, including capital planning and savings programs
• Support construction projects, ensuring code compliance and proper installation
• Manage Life Safety, Physical Environment, and Emergency Management plans

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of related experience
• Proven leadership in facility and maintenance engineering initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and multitasking skills
• Commitment to hospital values and mission

Additional Information
