Job Title:

Human Resources – Manager, Employee Relations

Primary Purpose:

The Employee Relations Manager, within our North America ER team, aims to improve employee relations practices through proactive strategies and data analysis. This role oversees ER case resolution, serves as a trusted advisor to management and HR, and collaborates cross-functionally during investigations and accommodations.

Reporting and Work Arrangement:

This individual contributor reports to the Sr. Director of Employee Relations. The role is remote, with travel to our NY headquarters, stores, and fulfillment centers (~10%).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement employee relations strategies aligned with company goals.
  2. Manage investigations related to discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace violence, including conducting interviews and preparing reports.
  3. Review and track HR hotline reports, maintain databases, and ensure quality assurance.
  4. Assist with responses to external agencies and follow-up on remedial actions.
  5. Support accommodation processes for health or religious reasons.
  6. Develop ER skills among HR Business Partners.
  7. Analyze ER trends and develop strategic action plans.
  8. Promote a positive workplace culture through engagement and diversity initiatives.
  9. Monitor external trends and research best practices for leadership recommendations.
  10. Assist in responses to emergencies and critical incidents, including at-risk employees.
  11. Administer severance policies and support RIF/layoff processes.
  12. Support HR partners in managing sensitive situations and conflicts.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  2. 5+ years in HR, Employee Relations, or related fields.
  3. Experience in corporate and retail sectors preferred.
  4. Discretion handling sensitive information.
  5. Strong investigation and reporting skills.
  6. Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  7. Excellent communication skills.
  8. Knowledge of employment law and compliance.
  9. Consultation and coaching abilities.
  10. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work flexible hours.
