Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Manager, Contracts in the Air Dominance product line within the Air & Space Defense Systems unit. The role focuses on front-end assessment of pursuits, proposal prep, contract negotiation, and customer management under FAR/DFARS and DoW requirements.

The ideal candidate will lead multi-contract negotiations, interface with Prime Contracting Officers, and ensure compliance with regulations while driving favorable business outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Requires a university degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Experience with FAR/DFARS and related government regulations.
  • Experience in contracts, subcontracts, procurement, acquisitions, or supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFPs, structure deals, negotiate terms, and interface with customers (virtual and in-person).
  • Advise leadership on contractual rights and obligations and mitigate risks.
  • Manage multiple contracts as primary interface with customer PCOs.
  • Conduct negotiations to maximize bookings, sales, cash, and profit.
  • Work independently while seeking leadership review when needed.
  • Handle routine and complex contract and proposal activities and respond to quick-turn requirements.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Contracts in the Air Dominance (AD) product line within the Air & Space Defense Systems strategic business unit. The person in this role will be a strategic member of the AD Contracts team, who will manage front-end assessment of business pursuits, proposal preparation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer relationship management within company policies, acquisition regulations, and customer requirements/specifications for various types of United Sates Government (USG) Depart of War (DoW) contracts.


What You Will Do


  • Review request for proposals (RFPs), structuring balanced business deals, establishing negotiation strategy, formalizing contractual documents, and frequent customer interface (virtual and in-person)

  • Work closely with Raytheon leadership by advising contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks, compiling and analyze data, maintaining historical information, and providing recommendations for a balanced business deal

  • Manage multiple contracts as the primary interface with the customers’ Prime Contracting Officers (PCOs)

  • Conduct timely and effective negotiations and resolution of customer issues to maximize key financial metrics (i.e., bookings, sales, cash, profit, etc.)

  • Work independently, yet recognize matters that require leadership review and buy-in

  • Multi-task routine and complex contract and proposal activities while responding to unplanned quick response requirements as they emerge

  • Draft complex letters that communicate Raytheon's business position effectively

  • Travel to a Raytheon or customer facility as needed for program and/or customer meetings


Qualifications You Must Have


  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience

  • Experience with U.S. Government contracts under the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) and related government regulations

  • Experience with Management/Administration in one or more of the following: Contracts Subcontracts, Procurement, Acquisitions or Supply Chain

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. Government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start date


Qualifications We Prefer


  • Mature judgment, proactive involvement in strategic issues and problem resolution skills

  • Hands-on proposal preparation or negotiation experience

  • Professional, effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced Degrees such as JD Law Degree or MBA or relevant Contracts Certifications

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
